New Guinea Singing Dog or Singer is the name of a rare dog from highlands of New Guinea. They are also called New Guinea Dingoes, Singing Dogs, Singers, New Guinea Highland Dogs, New Guinea Wild Dogs, Hallstrom Dogs, New Guinea Highland Wild Dogs, and by the acronym NGSD. Little is known about their lives on New Guinea or whether they still exist there; all research has been performed on the captive population.

The ancestors of New Guinea Singing Dogs were probably taken to New Guinea by early travelers thousands of years ago. Isolated from the rest of the world in the New Guinea highlands, they developed without influence from other canidae.

Compared to other species of the genus Canis, the New Guinea Singing Dog is described as relatively short-legged and broad-headed. These dogs have an average shoulder height of 31–46 cm(13-16 in.) and weigh 9–14 kg(17-25 lbs.). They do not have rear dewclaws.
