They are also called New Guinea Dingoes, Singing Dogs, Singers, New Guinea Highland Dogs, New Guinea Wild Dogs, Hallstrom Dogs, New Guinea Highland Wild Dogs, and by the acronym NGSD. Little is known about their lives on New Guinea or whether they still exist there; all research has been performed on the captive population.
