This ancient breed of dog is from the spitz family. The original purpose of the Norbottenspets was to do farm job and hunting, but in the time, this little white beauty become popular more like companion dog. The Norrbottenspets is used to hunt black grouse, capercaillie and hazel grouse, but is also effective with mammals as large as moose and grizzly bear.
In an appereance the Norrbottenspets is powerful dog and has a light coat. There should be lightness and power reflected in the dog. Males are noticeably more masculine than females, who are smaller and of lighter build. It should give the impression of being alert, spritely, and intelligent.
The proportions of the dog make it little more taller than long – fit for the original use as a hunter. The pretty dog has curl tail that it’s over the back and rest of the hips. The weight is approximately 11 to 15 kg (24 to 33 lb) for males, and 8 to 12 kg (18 to 27 lb) for females. Weight is not mentioned in the standard.
